Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your WeRentr. account and personal data — directly in the app, or by submitting a request to our Privacy Office. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.

Effective date: 4 June 2026 Last updated: 8 July 2026 Version: 1.1

1.Overview

You can ask us to delete your WeRentr. account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do this: delete your account yourself from within the WeRentr. app, or send a deletion request to our Privacy Office. Both options result in the deletion of your account and personal data, subject to the limited exceptions described in Section 6.

Tip — download your data first. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Before deleting, you can save a copy of your data in the app under Profile › Account Settings › Manage Account › Download My Data.

2.Delete Your Account in the App

The fastest way to delete your account and data is directly in the WeRentr. mobile app:

  1. Open the WeRentr. app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to ProfileAccount SettingsManage AccountDelete Account.
  3. Tap Continue on the confirmation prompt.
  4. For your security, we email a one-time verification code to your account email address. Enter that code to permanently confirm the deletion.

Once confirmed, your account is closed and your personal data is permanently deleted in accordance with Sections 5–7 below.

3.Request Deletion by Email

If you cannot access the app — for example, you have already removed it from your device or are locked out of your account — you can request deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to privacy@werentr.com from the email address associated with your WeRentr. account.
  2. Use the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
  3. Include any details that help us locate your account (for example, your registered email address or username).

We may need to verify your identity before processing the request to protect your account from unauthorized deletion.

4.If You Signed Up With a Social Account

If you created your WeRentr. account using Sign in with Apple, Google, or LinkedIn, you can revoke WeRentr.'s access to that account at any time from the provider's settings:

  • Apple: on your device, go to Settings › [your name] › Sign in with Apple › WeRentr., then choose Stop Using Apple ID.
  • Google: go to your Google Account › Security › Your connections to third-party apps & services › WeRentr., then choose Remove access.
  • LinkedIn: go to Settings & Privacy › Data privacy › Permitted services › WeRentr., then choose Remove.

Revoking access stops future sign-in but does not by itself delete the data stored in your WeRentr. account. To delete that data, use either of the methods in Sections 2 or 3 above.

5.What We Delete

When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete the personal data associated with your account, except where retention is required as described in Section 6. This includes:

  • Profile and account data: your profile information, account credentials, contact details, preferences, profile media, favorites, notifications, and device and session data;
  • Verification data: identity documents, selfies, ownership and credential evidence, and your verification records and statuses;
  • Security data: sign-in history, security events, and two-factor authentication settings;
  • Authority and property links: any property-management authority granted to or by you is revoked, property pages you claimed are unlinked from your identity and returned to an unclaimed state, and property submissions of yours that are still pending are removed from view.

Reviews are preserved — anonymously

To protect the integrity of the community record, reviews and ratings you have published remain on the Platform after account deletion, but they are permanently disconnected from your identity and displayed anonymously. If you want specific reviews removed entirely, delete them in the app before deleting your account, or include the request when you contact our Privacy Office.

6.What We May Retain

We may retain certain information after deletion where necessary to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or security obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, or to prevent fraud and abuse. Where we retain information, we keep it only for as long as required and protect it accordingly. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer be associated with you.

7.Response Timeframe

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests promptly and to complete deletion within 30 days of verifying the request, or sooner where required by applicable law. Backups containing your data are purged on our regular backup-rotation cycle. If we need more time, we will let you know.

8.Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data — including rights to access, correct, port, or restrict its processing — under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). For full details on how we handle your data and how to exercise these rights, see our Privacy Policy.
