1.Overview
You can ask us to delete your WeRentr. account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do this: delete your account yourself from within the WeRentr. app, or send a deletion request to our Privacy Office. Both options result in the deletion of your account and personal data, subject to the limited exceptions described in Section 6.
2.Delete Your Account in the App
The fastest way to delete your account and data is directly in the WeRentr. mobile app:
- Open the WeRentr. app and sign in to your account.
- Go to Profile › Account Settings › Delete Account.
- Confirm the request when prompted.
Once confirmed, your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is permanently deleted in accordance with Sections 5–7 below.
3.Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app — for example, you have already removed it from your device or are locked out of your account — you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to privacy@werentr.com from the email address associated with your WeRentr. account.
- Use the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
- Include any details that help us locate your account (for example, your registered email address or username).
We may need to verify your identity before processing the request to protect your account from unauthorized deletion.
4.If You Signed Up With Facebook
If you created your WeRentr. account using Facebook Login, you can remove WeRentr.'s access to your Facebook data at any time from Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, then remove WeRentr. To delete the data stored in your WeRentr. account itself, use either of the methods in Sections 2 or 3 above.
5.What We Delete
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete the personal data associated with your account, including your profile information, account credentials, contact details, preferences, and content you have submitted that identifies you, except where retention is required as described in Section 6.
6.What We May Retain
We may retain certain information after deletion where necessary to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or security obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, or to prevent fraud and abuse. Where we retain information, we keep it only for as long as required and protect it accordingly. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer be associated with you.
7.Response Timeframe
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests promptly and to complete deletion within 30 days of verifying the request, or sooner where required by applicable law. Backups containing your data are purged on our regular backup-rotation cycle. If we need more time, we will let you know.
8.Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data — including rights to access, correct, port, or restrict its processing — under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). For full details on how we handle your data and how to exercise these rights, see our Privacy Policy.
